I’ve always been on the heavier side. During high school, I just kept getting bigger and bigger. At the age of 24, I weighed in at 374lbs. I knew I had to do something — it was getting harder to walk distances that should be easy for me. In 2016, I joined a weight loss boot camp where I was expected to lose 20lbs every 6 weeks, and I did for 7 months. I was working out 6-7 times per week, sometimes twice a day. The diet they had me on was depleting me of nutrients, fat, and carbs, and I lost 100lbs in 7 months. After leaving the boot camp, I tried to manage the weight on my own. But I was falling back into old unhealthy habits and gaining weight.
My weight went up to 290, and I knew I didn’t want to go back to being 374lbs! I just couldn’t! I needed to make the change. I found a Keto coach (The Keto Bombshell), worked with her for a month, and really had some great results. She taught me so much and I am so grateful! I chose Keto because it was the only diet that didn’t leave me hungry. With Keto, the weight is coming off again. In 3 months, I lost about 30lbs. I’m on my way to my goal weight and Keto is helping me get there!
KetoKrate gives me the opportunity to try new things I never would have purchased or that I never knew existed! It gives me the option to have some hits and misses without buying a whole box of products, and it keeps me from going off plan. Some of my favorites are Sinless Chocolate Bars, Milkadamia Macadamia Milk, Ketofit Bars, and Bunkerhill Cheese Crisps.
I work a standard Monday-Friday. I work with kids who love sugar! Temptations are sometimes hard so I power through. I cook 95% of my meals at home to ensure I’m eating clean and knowing what goes into my body. I try to workout 4 days a week to keep myself active.
My goals for the future are to remain Keto and to help others on Keto as much as I can. My past self motivates me to keep going. Remembering how big and uncomfortable I was makes me never want to get back there.
My advice to others starting Keto is to take it day by day. Progress isn’t always a downward slope — sometimes it goes up and down. Do your research, don’t rush the process, and don’t compare your progress to someone else’s. Have fun on Keto!
